North East Bali Amed
Amed is still a small fishing village on the north east coast of Bali where the tourism has an ideal integration within the local culture. Tourism here is still laid-back and economic.
For instance you’ll find yourself very close from the famous US Liberty Wreck. Amed offers dive sites for all levels and ages. Mostly you can enter from shore whereas some other beautiful sites are only reachable by using fishermens boats called “Jukung”.
The waters here are very clear which gives rise to abundant hard and soft corals and an incredible variety of marine life. This is because of the Wallace Line which runs between Bali and Lombok. The Lombok Strait -deep channel- is a boundary that separates the ecozones of Asia and Australasia. It is one of the two main exit points for the Indonesian Throughflow as it leaves the archipelago and enters the Indian Ocean. Therefore divers can enjoy wonderful soft corals, gorgonian fans, huge barrel sponges and bommies nourished by those nutrient rich waters.
The Indonesian Archipelago is situated in the Coral Triangle : according to marine biologists this area has the largest biodiversity on the planet. There is something for everyone: turtles, reef sharks, Mola-mola (giant ocean sun fish, humphead parrotfish, white-spotted eagle rays, moray eels, groupers and a large etc. But as well Amed offers in a unique way muck diving: rare critters, a significant variety of nudibranches, all kind of shrimps, ghost pipe fish and seahorses -even bargibanti or denise pygmy seahorse-.
Our PADI DIve Resort is only 50 meters from the beautiful beach of Banjar Lebah. Wherever you go in this area : Mount Agung will keep an eye on you 🙂

Meet the Team
Louis aka Garfield
There is no other cat in Amed as spoil and lazy as Louis. All day he is just sleeping and waiting to be cuddled. But take care: when you don't take off your mask during the Open Water Course he gets very grumpy !
is from Culik/ Amed and thus Balinese. He manages both La Bila Restaurant & Bungalows. He takes pride into it to offer Balinese hospitality and ensures your stay with us is pleasant and comfortable. His charisma ensures you feel like at home and as well part of our small family. Like with the staff as well, don't hesitate to ask him regarding tourist atractions, culture & traditions, local cuisine and a large etc.
Iluh Sri aka Harimau
is from Tianyar and Balinese as well. She is one of those lucky persons with the ability to shine a dark room just with her presence. You will not encounter many female diving instructors around Southeast Asia. Therefore as a PADI OWSI she sets and plays a significant role model for future generations of indonesian citizens. She accumulates plenty of diving experience -teaching & guiding- in different geographic areas such as the Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean or Celebes Sea. There is no better way to try diving, to start courses or just fun diving than by enjoying the company and professionalism of Iluh & her beautiful smile.
Juan BaNos aka Sayang
is from Canary Islands, Spain. He grew up around seven wonderful islands in the Atlantic Ocean and he loves being in the sea since early childhood. As the Base Leader he manages diving activities of our PADI Dive Resort. After a long career dealing with financial products and trading energy derivatives in Munich, Germany, in 2014 he decided it was about time to try new life challenges. Being a financial mathematician and applying both german discipline and spanish improvisation, our daily diving operations regularly run punctual, smooth and safe. Nowadays he is currently a PADI IDC Staff Instructor with numerous PADI Specialties i.e Sidemount, Drift, Deep, Search & Recovery, Wreck, Night, etc. Business fluent in German & English, he stores up diving & teaching experience in remote sites such as Galapagos -Ecuador- or Pulau Weh -Indonesia-. He really tries hard to smile as beautiful as Iluh, though unsuccessful, he still has some charm.
