LA BILA – AMED BALI Dive Center & Resort
Amed is still a small fishing village on the north east coast of Bali where the tourism has an ideal integration within the local culture. Tourism here is still laid-back and economic.
For instance you’ll find yourself very close from the famous US Liberty Wreck. Amed offers dive sites for all levels and ages. Mostly you can enter from shore whereas some other beautiful sites are only reachable by using fishermens boats called “Jukung”.
The waters here are very clear which gives rise to abundant hard and soft corals and an incredible variety of marine life. This is because of the Wallace Line which runs between Bali and Lombok. The Lombok Strait -deep channel- is a boundary that separates the ecozones of Asia and Australasia. It is one of the two main exit points for the Indonesian Throughflow as it leaves the archipelago and enters the Indian Ocean. Therefore divers can enjoy wonderful soft corals, gorgonian fans, huge barrel sponges and bommies nourished by those nutrient rich waters.
